"And so were the churches established in the faith,
and increased in number daily." Acts 16:5
Christ Temple Bible Way Church was founded in 1960 by the late District Elder James Lampkin and Dr. Georgia Lampkin (affectionately known as Mother Lampkin). With approximately 10 members and instructions from God, they began holding services at 8916 Superior Avenue. As a result of their faith and obedience to God, the Lord added daily to the church and in 1971 Christ Temple Bible Way moved to 2945 Woodhill Avenue.
The Lord used Christ Temple to be a blessing in the Woodhill area. Woodhill Action Center was established, and a daycare and food bank was instituted. Monday night "Prayer, Praise and Worship" at Christ Temple was attended by people from various churches as well as other individuals throughout the greater Cleveland area.
In 1982, the Lord called District Elder Lampkin from labor to reward. After his passing, Elder David Williams pastored for several years. Mother Lampkin maintained the work after Elder Williams until 1985 when Elder Donald K. Jones became pastor and was assisted by Elder Jerry Jackson. In November 1989, the church moved to 10018 Sophia Avenue. On May 9, 1990, Elder Jerry Jackson became the pastor of Christ Temple Bible Way Church and the Lord has continued to add daily to the church. Under the leadership of Elder Jerry Jackson the church held two weekly worship services and bible classes; one at 10018 Sophia and one at an assisted living facility for the physically disabled. He also started a weekly radio broadcast entitled "Strictly the Word." Elder Jackson was elevated to District Elder in June of 2010 and on July 15, 2016, District Elder Jerry Jackson was consecrated as a Bishop in the International Bible Way Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, Inc.
